The head of the Luhansk regional military administration, Serhiy Haidai, denied reports that the Lysychansk-Bakhmut highway had allegedly been blocked by Russian troops.
“The Luhansk region is not cut off! The Lysychansk-Bakhmut route is not excluded. Access is available to Lysychansk and Severodonetsk. In the afternoon, the media began to spread the news that the occupiers had allegedly cut off the “road of life”. This is not true. “The road is turning, but today we were already able to deliver rubber trucks”, he wrote
Gaidai stressed that from 13:00 it is possible to move by road.
On May 23, the head of the Luhansk regional state administration, Serhiy Haidai, said that the Russian army was in the Luhansk region and now it was the most difficult period in eight years of war.
US (ISW) experts said on May 15 that the Russian administration had apparently abandoned plans for a large-scale siege of the Ukrainian armed group in the Donetsk region and was now focusing its efforts on controlling the Luhansk region.
