Although it will not be released until March 2023, the long-awaited film adaptation of the role-playing game “Dungeons & Dragons” presented its first trailer during the opening of Comic-Con, the most important event in the entertainment industry.
Hugh Grant, Regé-Jean Page, Chris Pine, Sophia Lillis, Michelle Rodríguez and Justice Smith are the protagonists of this fantasy and humor film in which Paramount studios have been working for more than a decade.
“Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves” is the final title of the film, in which a group of adventurers “will embark on a journey to recover a lost relic,” the factory detailed.
Such is the expectation for this project that the important Comic-Con decided to inaugurate its first physical edition in two years with the screening of the first minutes of the film and a press conference attended by the entire cast.
“The script includes a type of humor that has never been seen in the fantasy genre,” said John Francis Daley, responsible for directing this film together with Jonathan Goldstein, at the San Diego Convention Center.
“The film conveys the feeling of camaraderie typical of the game,” Goldstein completed during the most important event in the entertainment industry.
It won’t be the first time that “Dungeons & Dragons” has landed in theaters, since a movie with the same title hit the big screen in 2000 under the direction of director Courtney Solomon and with a cast that included Justin Whalin, Jeremy Irons or Thora Birch.
