In an interview with Empire Magazine, director Rob Marshall shared some details about The Little Mermaid’s music. So, the main character has a new song – “Pirvelad” (“For the first time”), which sings about his first experience on land.
“It’s about his experience when he was on dry land. We needed to create a number that would work almost like a montage, so that we could experience her being on the ground and show us what it’s like to put on the shoes, to have the feet. It’s a different experience for him, it’s wonderful and scary at the same time,” Marshall shares.
