In the first half of this year, African countries significantly expanded oil imports from Russia. This was reported on Thursday by the Nigerian news portal Ripples Nigeria, citing the US-British research service Refinitiv.
He said that after the EU leadership announced a plan to reduce the purchase of Russian oil and oil products by EU countries last spring, African countries increased imports from Russia. Thus, the import of diesel from African countries by the Russian Federation during this period increased by 25% – to 1 million tons, while purchases of Russian gasoline and oil (naphtha) during this period amounted to 200 thousand tons.
Extended purchases of Russian oil products are now made mainly by Nigeria, Senegal, Togo, Morocco, Cტte d’Ivoire and Sudan.
