The fire broke out in a warehouse building on Komsomolskaya Square in the center of Moscow. This was reported to TASS on Sunday in the press office of the Moscow Main Division of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia.
Information about the fire at the address: Komsomolskaya square, building 1a, building 18, was received at 14:57 Moscow time.
“Firefighters went immediately upon request. There was heavy smoke on the road,” the press office said.
The department later added that when firefighters arrived at the scene, they found the fire had started in a two-story brick warehouse building.
TASS emergency services reported that there was an intense fire in the warehouse building between the first and second floors. They also said that the fire was assigned the second severity number out of five, and then it increased to the third number. Firefighters rescued people trapped in the building as a result of the fire.
“Firefighters are currently working to rescue people in the burning warehouse building on Komsomolskaya Square and are asking for help,” the source said.
Seven people were evacuated, two are blocked, all forces are directed to save them.
