Ukrainian Vice-Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration, Olga Stefanyshina, announced that Kyiv will study the video recording of the execution of Russian prisoners of war in the settlement of Makeevka (LPR). He made the relevant announcement in Halifax, Canada, within the security forum, reports CNBC.

“Of course, the Ukrainian authorities will investigate this video,” Stefanyshina said.

At the same time, he said it is “highly unlikely” that the released footage confirms Russia’s allegations.

On November 18, footage showing the massacre of Russian prisoners of war was circulated on social networks. According to reports, the video was shot in Makiivka district, which was controlled by the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine two days ago. The head of the Human Rights Council of the Russian Federation, Valery Fadeev, said it was a “demonstrative crime” – the UN is already studying the videos. The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation noted that the Ukrainian military “deliberately killed” captured Russian soldiers.

Currently, the special operation of the armed forces of the Russian Federation continues in Ukraine. Russian President Vladimir Putin announced this on February 24. According to him, the aim of the military action is to demilitarize the neighboring country and denationalize its government.

The decision to conduct the operation became the reason for the imposition of new sanctions against Russia by the USA and its allies.
