The troops of the Russian Federation have strengthened “anti-sabotage and police measures” in the temporarily occupied territories of the Skadovsky district of the Kherson region, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine said on Facebook.
“According to the available information, the enemy intensified anti-sabotage and police measures in the temporarily occupied territories of the Skadovsky district of the Kherson region in connection with effective fire damage to the objects of the Russian occupation forces. In particular, in the settlements of Novomykolaivka and Krasne, on November 22 of this year, the occupiers checked the houses, telephones and documents of the local residents,” the report says.
The General Staff states that the enemy is improving the fortification equipment and logistical support of advanced units in the Kryvorizka and Kherson regions.
“Used artillery of various calibers to shell Prydnipryanskyi, Dnipropetrovsk region. Mykhailivka, Kachkarivka, Mylovo, Zmiivka, Ivanivka, Antonivka and Chornobayivka in Kherson region and Kherson city itself,” the headquarters added.
In addition, the Ukrainian army reports that the occupation forces are concentrating their main efforts on offensive actions in the directions of Bakhmut and Avdiyiv – shelling has been recorded in the areas of the settlements of Bilogorivka, Soledar, Bakhmutske, Bakhmut, New York, Berdychi, Avdiivka District, Opytne, Marinka and Krasnohorivka Donetsk. There were also airstrikes near Spirni, Nevelski and Kamianka.
Russia’s full-scale war against Ukraine
On February 24, 2022, Russia and Ukraine on the ground and in the air along the entire length of the common border. The territory of Belarus was used for the invasion of the Kiev region with the aim of capturing the capital. In the south, the Russian army, in particular, occupied part of the Zaporizhia and Kherson regions, and in the north – the regions of the Sumy region and the Chernihiv region.
Russian President Vladimir Putin is calling the large-scale invasion a “special operation.” Initially, its goal was defined as “demilitarization and de-Nazification” – “protection of Donbas”. And in September and early October, Russia made an attempt to annex the partially occupied regions of Zaporizhia, Kherson, Donetsk and Luhansk. Ukraine and the West have declared these actions illegal. The UN General Assembly on October 12, which condemns the Russian Federation’s attempt to annex the occupied territories of Ukraine.
Russian authorities say the military does not attack civilian objects. At the same time, the Russian air force, missile forces, navy and artillery bomb Ukrainian cities daily. Residential buildings and objects of urban infrastructure throughout the territory of Ukraine are subject to destruction.
In late October, Ukraine put Russia’s losses in the war at more than 70,000 dead soldiers. In September, Russia announced that its losses were less than 6,000 dead. In June, President Zelensky estimated the ratio of Ukrainian and Russian casualties at one to five.
After not overcoming the resistance of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the surviving Russian units withdrew from the territory of the Kiev, Chernihiv and Sumy regions in early April. And in September, as a result of a lightning counterattack, the Ukrainian army liberated almost the entire occupied part of the Kharkiv region.
After the liberation of the Kiev region from the Russian troops, incidents of mass murder, torture and rape of civilians, including children, were discovered in the cities of Bucha, Irpin, Gostomel and in villages of the region. Ukrainian authorities have declared that Russia is committing genocide. Western countries are involved in confirming mass murders. The Russian Federation rejects the accusations of war crimes.
Later, the facts of torture and murder of Ukrainian citizens began to be discovered in almost all settlements that were under Russian occupation. Specifically, in Chernihiv Oblast, Kharkiv Oblast, Kherson Oblast.
The Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights confirmed (verified) 6,557 cases of death and 10,074 cases of civilian injuries in Ukraine. These are the organizations from February 24th to November 13th. The UN stresses that the actual death toll is much higher.
