Kyiv City Council has decided to ban the sale and firing of fireworks in Kyiv during the war, as well as the circulation of cars without mufflers in the city.
“Several years ago there was a decision to ban fireworks, but we see that not everyone is behaving adequately. There is a war in Ukraine, the bombing of our cities continues and some citizens are arranging fireworks! Or drive on the streets by car, like a jet! “There must be responsibility for this,” Kiev Mayor Vitaliy Klitschko wrote in a letter.
According to the decision, for the period of martial law on the territory of Ukraine and 30 days after its expiration in Kyiv, the sale (sale, trade) of fireworks, greetings and fireworks, as well as their launching is prohibited.
Another decision, according to Klitschko, provides for a ban on the movement in Kyiv of vehicles that use in their construction the system of “direct current” exhaust and other exhaust systems, where there is no sound absorber. This decision is valid until the expiration or repeal of martial law throughout Ukraine.
At the same time, Klitschko does not say who will monitor the implementation of this decision.
In May, the Verkhovna Rada of 2022.
In early June, the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky instructed the Cabinet to consider this issue.
