Since the start of active operations in eastern Ukraine, the Armed Forces of Ukraine have captured about 9,000 square kilometers, President Volodymyr Zelenskyi said in his evening speech on September 23.
“Since the beginning of active actions in the east of our country in September, about 9 thousand square kilometers of territory, about 400 settlements have already been liberated,” he said.
The head of state noted that this was made possible, in particular, thanks to the help of the residents of the occupied territories. He called on the people in the currently occupied areas to continue to provide it.
“Give our special services all the information about those who are organizing and helping to carry out this hoax with fake referendums. Transmit all information about the Russian mobilization, about the Russian army in general. Help those in need in the occupied territories: the elderly, singles, families with children. Ukraine will return all its land, and we must keep as many of our people there as possible,” Zelensky said.
On September 15, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyi announced that the Office of the President then clarified that the Armed Forces of Ukraine are drawn from Russian troops
On September 10, the Ministry of Defense of Russia for the first time from the beginning in the Kharkiv region indirectly, calling it “reconstruction”.
The next day – September 11 – the American Institute for the Study of War (ISW) said that Russia’s retreat in the Kharkiv region is not a regrouping of troops, as the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation claims, but a hasty escape.
