Tomorrow, EU ambassadors will continue to agree on oil price restrictions, Rikard Jozwiak, editor of Radio Svoboda, reported.
“The meeting of the EU ambassadors has ended. There is still no agreement on a new package of sanctions against Russia. They will meet again tomorrow to agree, in particular, on oil price caps,” he tweeted.
new package of sanctions against Russia due to its actions
European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen said the sanctions were designed to “make the Kremlin pay” for further escalation in Ukraine. The proposed eighth package of sanctions on the import ban of Russian goods alone could deprive Moscow of an additional €7 billion in revenue, the EU says.
it may contain, among other things, restrictive measures against 37 individuals and companies involved in organizing the so-called referendums in the occupied territories of Ukraine, an EU diplomat told RFE/RL on condition of anonymity. A cap on oil prices is also expected.
